Month: February 2008

  • I, Nelson L. Wong, have had very good days and some bad ones. Today, Thursday, February 28, 2008, happened to be a really bad one.

I do have something that I'd love to share though – The following is an excerpt of the "About me" section of my facebook profile, enjoy:

I am the flamboyant piccolo player who plays big and mean, and yes, I do get curses from some second violin players every now and then for showing no mercy. So, if for one second you think I was gonna play a tiny bit softer just because I'd feel bad about you begging for it, you can't be more mistaken. Just wear the damn earplugs.

P.S. For those who're dying to know what exactly happened in my recital, I need to apologize. I've way too many things going on right now and can't give a damn about that at all for a while. Recordings are currently in my locker (or should I have said "one of my lockers" since I raided my sister's...) but I've yet to have time to process them. Be patient.

  • Recital day is today. Tell you guys what happened when it's done.

Update 2:45 PM: Four hours minus 15 minutes and counting down... I'm starting to panic.

  • I have re-found my confidence.

Today I signed out a room for a practice session (which was also a lie because I told the concert production people that I was using it for a "rehearsal"...) for 1.5 hours, I left the room after practicing for...

    20 minutes.

P.S. For those who does not have a facebook or hasn't check facebook for a while, I've changed once again and finalized my recital program. Now I'm playing Varèse's Density 21.5 and Brahms F minor Sonata.

  • So I'm having my first rehearsal of my recital tomorrow. César Franck. Something that I've already mastered one year ago. So, um... I'm not really that worried.
